Early Life
Ryan Sheckler was born on December 30th of 1989, in San Clemente, California. He has two younger brothers named Kane and Shane. Ryan was eighteen months old when he first found his father’s skateboard. Afterward, he spent countless hours dedicated to mastering the sport. During his youth, Sheckler’s father supported his son’s passion, having built a custom skate park in their backyard for him to practice. Ryan received his first sponsorship when he was seven years old from the Etnies shoe company.
Personal Life
Both his philanthropic project, “the Sheckler Foundation,” and Sheckler’s structural issues have implicated his mother. Ryan cherishes his family and always tries to spend time with them. However, his parents divorced in 2007, and the skater still has romantic thoughts while dating Abigail Baloun. Sheckler revealed that he was reborn as a Christian in a 2017 interview, indicating that he had been a functioning alcoholic for a few years until his drunkenness jeopardized his skateboarding career and he was committed to treatment.
Career
After four years with Nearly, Sheckler left to join Plan B Skateboards, involving Pat Duffy. In 2007, the MTV reality show “Life of Ryan” was launched. Ryan’s day-to-day tasks as he tries to balance his work and private life are chronicled in the series. The rest of the episodes are filmed in Sheckler’s house located in Clemente and feature his family, school friends, and a bevy of famous skateboarders. In 2009 after three seasons the show was terminated due to Ryan’s skateboard career.
