It features a variety of styles including folk-rock, Texas country, Americana and Texas country. McCollum sings vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica and Jason Newberry plays bass. Will Hoback plays drums. Charlie Magnone plays keyboards and piano. Multi-instrumentalist Corby Schaub produced the album. Lloyd Maines contributed pedal steel guitar.

McCollum co-wrote or co-wrote nine tracks. Two songs were also written by McCollum’s relatives. Many of the lyrics relate to his childhood in Limestone County Texas. The album’s title refers to McCollum’s nickname earned while working on a ranch in Limestone County. McCollum’s original song “Meet You In the Middle” was the first single. McCollum and his backing group announced a Texas tour to support the album. February and March dates were set for Houston, Austin and Fort Worth. The band performed at RedGorilla Music Fest and Texas Crawfish and Music Festival, Spring, Texas. He was awarded the T-Birds Songwriter Award and performed at Larry Joe Taylor’s Texas Music Festival in 2015.

McCollum released an EP called Probably Wrong. Session One, on July 7, 2017. This was McCollum’s first album to debut at No. 6 on Heatseekers Albums, and No. 14 on Independent Albums Chart, and No. 15 on the Independent Albums chart and No. The second session, Probably Wrong Session 2, was released shortly thereafter on September 8, 2017.

The complete 10-track Probably Wrong album was published on November 10, 2017. It includes all previous sessions, which include the singles “I can’t breathe” and “Misunderstood”, as well as two new tracks including “Hell Of A Year”. Lloyd Maines, a Grammy Award-winning producer of Probably Wrong, produced the entire album. McCollum went on tour throughout 2017 in support of his new releases.
