Her outstanding performance on the show grabbed the attention of several record labels and eventually signed a deal with Flamingo Records.

Personal Life

In the summer of 2018, Karol G met Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA when they were filming the music video to their song “Culpables.” Early the next year, the two announced that they were in a romantic relationship. A little later, at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in April of 2019, it was confirmed that the couple was engaged when Karol G showed up wearing a diamond wedding ring. However, in April of 2021, Anuel AA announced that his relationship with Karol G had ended.

Career

Though she didn’t win The X Factor, Carolina did enough to sign her first recording deal with Flamingo Records. She also caught the attention of a Puerto Rican label, Diamond Music. Under the alias Karol G, Navarro started dropping singles from 2007 to 2012 and her first released song was En la Playa. As a university student, she recorded 301 and Tu Juguete. She also performed as a backup singer while in college. Karol G flew to Miami to meet with Universal Records. Unfortunately, the record company didn’t sign her because they thought women wouldn’t succeed in the reggaeton category.
