Joanna competed in Muay Thai for 10 years and holds a record of 70 wins, along with six world championships and four European championships. Further, she also has a professional kickboxing record of 27 wins and 2 losses and holds an amateur kickboxing record of 37 wins and 3 losses.
Joanna debuted her mixed martial arts career on May 19, 2012. After that, She signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in July 2014. She made her debut against on July 26, 2014. Further, Jędrzejczyk faced undefeated Straw-weight top contender Cláudia Gadelha on December 13, 2014, at UFC on Fox 13 and won the match via a controversial decision victory to fight Carla Esparza for a UFC Straw-weight strap.
After she won against Carla Esparza in UFC 185, she became the first polish fighter to become a UFC champion. She first faced a surprising TKO loss in the first round at the UFC 217 event against Rose Namajunas and lost her title to thug Rose.
