Gabriella already appeared in several regional productions before she had auditioned for the title character in Matilda the Musical. In her first audition, she was rejected for the original cast and auditioned again where she was selected. On December 22, 2013, she made her Broadway debut as Matilda Wormwood at Shubert Theatre.
