Early Life
DaBaby was born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk on December 22, 1991, in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the youngest of three sons, and in 1999, the family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. DaBaby graduated from Vance High School in 2010, then he spent two years at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has said of his college experience, “I didn’t even have a major decided at college. I only went to school for my parents.” DaBaby’s father passed away in 2019, and his brother Glenn died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 2020.
Personal Life
Even though DaBaby stopped being a criminal before he started his career, he got into trouble again in November 2018 when it was said that he had killed a man. Later, it was confirmed that DaBaby had been attacked by a thief in a Wal-Mart store and had shot the thief in self-defense. In March 2019, the charges against him were dropped. Many of DaBaby’s songs have lyrics that talk about the women he has dated. However, there is no information about who he is dating at the moment.

Career
DaBaby dropped his debut album ‘Nonfiction’ in 2015. The same year, he moved to Austin, Texas to join in the ‘South by Southwest Music Festival’. He started to get noticed when he performed live at the festival. He gained a good response when he released his new mixtape in 2016, named ‘God’s Work’: Resurrected’. Beginning of his next mixtape he began using the moniker ‘DaBaby’.
The mixtape ‘God’s Work: Resurrected’ worked better than his debut mixtape and earned a lot of attention. DaBaby started to release his tracks and albums on online platforms such as SoundCloud,’ where he developed a significant fan base over the years. He released ‘Baby Talk 5,’ in 2018. The same year, he released another mixtape, ‘Blank Blank,’ which was successful.
