Early Life

YBN Cordae was born on August 26, 1997, just outside of Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, to a mother who was just 16 years old at the time of his birth. He was raised by his mother and grandmother. At the age of 5, his family moved to South Carolina and later moved to Suitland, Maryland at around the age of 10. At the time he took his music interests from his father and began listening to the rappers like 50 Cent and Ja Rule. Cordae said that Eminem, Big L, and Nas are his top three rappers of all time. In 2015, YBN completed his high school graduation from Westlake High School in Waldorf, United States. After that in 2017, he enrolled at Towson University in Maryland, but in 2018, he dropped out of the university and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career in the hip hop industry. When Cordae was 15 years old he started writing rap songs as a hobby. During college, he connected with YBN Nahmir through social media and they quickly became friends.

When it comes to YBN Cordae’s girlfriend, he is in a strong relationship with Naomi Osaka who is a famous professional tennis player from Japan. The two started dating in early 2019 and now they are happy with their romantic relationship.

Cordae recorded his first song at the age of 16, under the moniker name of Entendre and then he collaborated with his mutual friend Simba for the song Tough Decision. In 2014, YBN released his first mixtape called Anxiety following that up with  I’m So Anxious in 2016 and I’m So Anonymous in 2017.
